We're pleased to announce the election of Pastor Daniel Stevens as the next senior pastor at Grace Baptist Church. Pastor Stevens was elected by unanimous vote of the congregation on Sunday, February 12, 2017.

Statement from the Pulpit Committee
Since May of 2015, the pulpit committee has been praying and diligently seeking God’s man for Grace Baptist Church. In His perfect timing, God has shown us His candidate for our church. Upon the unanimous recommendation of the pulpit committee and deacons, the leadership is excited to present Daniel Stevens as our candidate for Senior Pastor.
*NOTE: All scheduled meetings are open to the entire membership, we are asking different groups to come at different times just to help us manage the crowd better. If you have other obligations during your group’s allotted time, please come at another time that works for your schedule. These meetings are for you to meet our candidate and ask any questions you would like answered prior to voting on him for GBC Pastor.
**NOTE: Church members 18 and older may vote on Daniel Stevens for Pastor of Grace during the business meeting on the evening of 2-12. Results will be announced in the auditorium after the ballots are counted.

An Introduction to Daniel Stevens
Daniel Stevens was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, relocating, with his mother, to Mississippi in his mid-teens. In 2002, Daniel graduated from Pensacola Christian College with a BA in Pastoral Studies and a minor in Biblical Languages. He received his Master of Divinity from Pensacola in 2006. Daniel began working on his Ph.D. in Biblical Studies in 2010 at Piedmont International University, and anticipates finishing the degree upon completion of his dissertation this year.
Pastor Stevens was Associate Pastor, focusing on Youth Ministries, at Glen Iris Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama from May, 2002 through August, 2004. He also taught and coached at Glen Iris Baptist School. After completing his Master of Divinity, Daniel was called to serve as Assistant Pastor and School Administrator at Faith Baptist Church (and Faith Baptist Schools) in Fredericksburg, Virginia, where he served from April, 2006 through June, 2008. He began as Senior Pastor of Belmont Baptist Church in nearby Mineral, Virginia in March, 2008 and remained Senior Pastor there until June, 2015. During this time, the church grew from an average attendance of 45 to an average of 175. Also in 2008, he began his career at Virginia Baptist College, serving as Teacher, Director of Graduate Studies, Executive Vice-President and finally President of the college, his current ministry.
President Stevens and his wife Summer have prayerfully considered his candidacy for pastor at Grace Baptist Church and they are excited about the prospect of coming to Grace.

Daniel and Summer have three children, Caleb (11), Kyle (7), and Kaleigh (15 months). Summer Stevens has her Masters and Doctorate in Physical Therapy and currently works in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit specializing in the needs of premature babies.
