While I never had the opportunity to be in the service, I’m so thankful for those who have sacrificed to protect our country. In our passage today, Paul uses the illustration of the honorable soldier to show how Christians should live their lives. We’ve all heard of people who have, unfortunately, been dishonorably discharged from the military service because of their actions, attitudes or something they did. These individuals were dishonorably discharged. Yet, we celebrate the many soldiers who were discharged honorably. They served our country with valor and truth. In our passage, Paul tells Christians that they should seek to be honorable soldiers.
