They say overeating, not the gym, is the reason Americans continue to get bigger and bigger. A CDC study found that every day American women eat 335 calories more than they did 30 years ago and men eat 168 more calories.
According to numbers compiled from the FDA and USDA, the average American consumes a ton of food and drinks every year. Literally 1,996 pounds. That's 110 pounds of red meat. 124 pounds of wheat and flour. 415 pounds of veggies. 53 gallons of soda pop. But by far the most consumed product is dairy- 600 pounds of dairy products. Apparently all those "Got Milk?" commercials worked.
Unfortunately many of us are also consuming too much spiritual junk food, and not enough of the pure milk of the Word. This morning we'll look at a diet for healthy growth in our Christian lives.
