“Where is God?” is a question that’s asked during tragedies—national or personal. We especially tend to ask this question when bad things happen to “good” people. Or good things happen to bad people. This is a question the exiled Jews in Esther's day were asking. This is a question we often ask when we don't see God working in obvious and spectacular ways. But what we see in this book is that even though God is nowhere explicitly, He's everywhere behind what we see. God is the King behind the Seen. He is providentially fulfilling His promises and purposes for His people.
