Last week we saw that Jesus is the Vine. And we are the branches. We must to have a vital relationship with Him, because without Him, we can do what nothing.
The power for growth comes from the vine not from us.
Corrie ten Boom used the illustration of a woodpecker who tapped with his beak against the trunk of a tree, just as lightning struck and split the tree open.
The woodpecker said, “I didn’t realize there was so much power in my beak!”
Then Corrie adds, "Don’t be a silly woodpecker. Know where that power has come from and to whom the credit belongs."
Last week we saw the power of growth comes from Christ the Vine.
This week we want to see the power of pruning comes from God the Vinedresser.
