This evening we come to the conclusion-our 18th sermon in Ecclesiastes. Solomon is referred to in this book as "the Preacher." That's what the word Ecclesiastes means-"one who preaches in front of the assembly."
So tonight Solomon the preacher will come to the conclusion. Sometimes we wonder if a preacher is going wrap things up. Especially after he says "in conclusion" about 12x, you start to wonder.
This evening Solomon is going to tell us his conclusion to the whole matter of the vanity of life under the sun. He's done his experiments. He's tried it all.
And he concludes that everything under the sun, everything in this life apart from God, is empty. He didn't find the answer to life in any of these things, except... and tonight he's going to tell us the exception. He's finally going to tell us the answer. Where we can find joy. Where we can find satisfaction. Where we can rise above the futility of man's "wisdom." And he says we do this by being transformed by God's wisdom.
