A 27 year-old woman in Fort Pierce, Florida, walked into a McDonald’s restaurant to order a 10-piece McNuggets meal. After standing in line for some time, she finally made it to the counter and delivered her order. The cashier took her order and her money, but then realized they were out of McNuggets.
The woman wanted her money back, but the employee told her the sale was final. He offered her something else off the menu, but she didn’t want anything else. She was so upset, she called 911.
The woman never got her McNuggets, but she did get a ticket when the police arrived for misusing the 911 emergency system.
I wonder how many times do we treat God like a McDonald’s worker?
We let him know our order, what we want, what we think we need. And we expect Him to come through.
But what happens when He doesn’t provide our order? We don’t like to wait.
And the fact is most of us aren’t very patient to begin with.
We don’t like to wait for traffic or computers.
Wait for rain. I don’t know about your lawn, but mine looks like tumbleweed is about to blow through.
And now technology has given us the world at our fingertips. This generation is conditioned to get anything they want by flicking their finger against a screen.
